Even away from the ski slopes, numerous activities await you in the snow-covered alpine regions. In the middle of the mountains there are well-maintained cross-country ski trails that stretch through the winter landscape. With a length of six kilometres, the “Rinderplatz” route has an easy to moderate level of difficulty. The “Foggoia” trail starts at the Gasserhütte hut and is eight kilometres long. Snowshoeing is a fun experience for the whole family. During your winter holiday in the Eisack Valley you have the opportunity to take part in a free guided snowshoe hike on the Alpe di Villandro and to explore the snowy expanses on the Alpe di Funes.
A romantic atmosphere settles on the Eisack Valley in the run-up to Christmas. At the Christmas markets in Bressanone, Chiusa and Bolzano, you can smell a seductive scent of roasted almonds, roasted chestnuts and mulled wine, and decorations for South Tyrolean Christmas trees and traditional handicrafts are offered at the stalls.

In front of the fantastic backdrop of the South Tyrolean mountains, you can spend an eventful winter holiday in the Eisack Valley, in the Marialisa apartments. In the Dolomites you will find the winter sports arenas of the Alpe di Siusi and Val Gardena, which offer excellent conditions for eventful days in the white snow with perfectly groomed slopes, ski schools, kindergartens and countless places to stop for refreshments. The most legendary and famous ski excursion in the Alps: the Sellaronda, which surrounds the Sella massif and connects four Ladin valleys: Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Arabba and Val di Fassa, is waiting to be explored in the Dolomiti Superski area. An insider tip in Val Gardena is the ski area and natural jewel Monte Pana, ideal for beginners and advanced skiers; from there you can also reach the Sellaronda, the Monte Pana chairlift passes directly under the legendary and impressive Sassolungo peak. The Bressanone-Plose ski area is home to the longest valley run in South Tyrol and the spectacular “RudiRun” toboggan run, which descends from the mountain station into the valley for a length of over ten kilometers.
